Sophia’s debut novel, Threads, won the Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Prize in 2009. It became a popular trilogy in school libraries around the world. Since then Sophia has written several novels for teens, including The Look and You Don’t Know Me, tackling the dark side of fame from modelling to the music industry. Love Song, about a rock band, won the RNA Romantic Novel of the Year.
Her latest series, Following Ophelia, is about a poor girl rising up through the ranks of Victorian society as an artist’s muse for the Pre-Raphaelites. “Though she transports her readers into glamorous worlds Sophia Bennett fills her stories with warm, believable characters and always keeps the emphasis on the important things – family, friends, love.” Lovereading4Kids.
