Catherine Randall

Catherine Randall is a writer of historical fiction for 10-13 year olds. Her debut novel, The White Phoenix, set in the Great Fire of London, was highly commended in the Historical Association Young Quills Award.

Catherine’s latest novel, The Great Bear Breakout, was published in February 2026. Set in Dickensian London, it was inspired by a long-forgotten Victorian zoo she discovered while researching her family history.

Catherine is passionate about encouraging reading and loves meeting young readers at CWISL events and on school visits. As well as writing, Catherine leads guided walks around the City of London.
