Catherine Randall

Catherine Randall is a writer of historical fiction for 10-13 year olds. Her debut novel, The
White Phoenix, set in the Great Fire of London, was highly commended in the Historical
Association Young Quills Award.

Catherine’s next novel, The Great Bear Breakout, set in Dickensian London, was inspired by
a long-forgotten Victorian zoo she discovered while researching her family history. It will be
published in February 2026.

Catherine is passionate about encouraging reading and loves meeting young readers at
CWISL events and on school visits. As well as writing, Catherine leads guided walks around
the City of London.
